You know, I’m sitting here getting kinda drunk and I’m listening to some albums. They sound so sweet….anyway, I’m listening to the Eagles ‘The Long Run’ right now (side 1, I already listened to side 2) and I’m thinking – out of all the music I can relate to growing up, this album is the big stand out. This album makes me think of middle school the most and miss all my friends from the dances. How we used be so full of shit and pep and dance a little or go next door to the little league field and hang out in the dugouts and get up to mischief or maybe get to second base.
And when ‘Heartache Tonight’ came on how we’d get pensive…
At the dances, our neighborhood DJ, Joe, would play a few songs from this album, and we all loved it; no matter how much angst it brought out. And we’d sway with our friends or try to be cool or slide our hands down as far as allowed into the back pants pockets of whomever we happened to be dancing with, all slow and hopeful…
I remember Debbie and Lori and Dave the most although if I really thought about it I could remember more, like Kevin and Kris. Hello to you all, wherever you are. I hope your life is fine and I thank you for the wonderful memories.

Then, there was me, all of 11 standing at the turntable belting out the words to ‘Teenage jail’ because that was how it was. They sang it like it was and I could relate.
Grab yourself some Eagles every once in a while. Sure, everyone my age is sick of them, and many blame them for crazy ticket prices (man, fuck Don Henley), but sometimes, in your world of worlds, they hit the spot like nobody else can.
check this guy out, happy happy rockin on:
