Oof. Here’s a ridiculous article I just stopped reading that I was screening for purpose and value for my kids. That’s how I roll, I see a thing that could be helpful to them and I examine it. This thing, though, this one quickly became more of the same dreck, I should say, more of the same tired excuses to be less than stellar.
The article is about using efficient emails how lame we are. In the article the author, who references someone who actually works as a ‘time coach and trainer’ (I swear on your mamma’s virtue I didn’t make that up), goes on about how wonderful it is to use certain email ‘templates’ in certain situations. Well, no shit.
The author also makes it sound wonderful and earth-shattering that using the right words and tone are important. Again – no shit.
This response is ridiculous, as well, should never have been written because its just so damned shameful that adults need to be trained in using their time because our work environments (and expectations) are so ridiculous, and, that they have to be:
A) reminded that it’s proper and advantageous to know how to communicate, and
B) shown how.
The mob rules.

Addendum: Did you see the pic I included in this post? Go ahead, click it. No wonder people don’t know how to communicate. Sigh. I also wanted to say that I wasn’t attacking the article I referenced on technical merit and whatnot, I rather liked it in that regard. The author is clearly not the poser I am. Dat shillness, though.
